Who Can Benefit from Sedation?

Sedation may be suitable for patients who:

    • Experience dental anxiety or nervousness
    • Have a sensitive gag reflex
    • Require complex or multiple procedures
    • Find it challenging to sit still for extended periods

We’re here to support you with a caring, personalised approach that helps reduce stress and ensure your comfort.

Sedation Options Available

Oral Sedation

Taken as a tablet before your visit, oral sedation helps reduce tension and may cause drowsiness. You’ll remain conscious, but many patients feel very calm and remember little of the procedure. You’ll need someone to accompany you home.

Local Anaesthetic

Used to numb a specific area of the mouth, this technique helps minimise discomfort during your treatment.

What to Expect

Before we begin, we’ll walk you through everything so you feel well-informed and prepared. During your procedure, our experienced team will monitor you closely and check in with you regularly. After treatment, we’ll provide clear guidance to support your recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can children receive sedation?

In certain cases, nitrous oxide may be an option for children. We’ll discuss your child’s needs and determine whether this is appropriate during your consultation.

Will I be completely unconscious?

No. Our sedation options are designed to help you stay relaxed and comfortable, not unconscious. You’ll be awake and able to respond throughout your visit.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

We’ll give you personalised instructions based on the type of sedation you’ll receive. For oral sedation, this may include fasting beforehand and arranging a ride home.
